Just hear that the UHF Fireground Red and Blue used in the QV / TN / old KX area is no longer allowed to be used in CT. Haven't heard the reason why.

Per an email I received :

Statewide Interoperability meeting discussed that Fireground RED and BLUE be removed from all of the state STOCS boxes due the interference by these boxes with licensed users.

That makes more sense. I know both of those frequencies are utilized with repeater pairs with a couple of agencies, like Madison for example.

I wonder if they will still use them at the low power on-scene channels, or if they’ll abandon them all together.

This was only discussed but there is no action on this as of now. This is a USER issue regarding people who use it near a licensee. An example is QV who owns a licence for Red and Blue so there is no issue there
