Just got back form Independence,Ks was about two blocks from city park where city display was going to be shot off tonight....appx 2 hrs ago heard loud explosion and alot of very heavy sounding fireworks going off into air, everyone ran out into street to see what was happening, i ran back inside and programmed my scanner just in time to hear fire/police being dispatched to city park , one officer radioed there was truck fully engulfed in flames on his arrival and truck was carrying the city fireworks display , heard one possibly two hurt, park was being evacuated of on lookers when i was leaving town.
