I've been out of the forum loop for a while...
I know the firmware beta testing was in progress.
What is the status of the HP1 firmware?
Good to go...still testing??
Thanks
Harry

Yeah. Uniden abandon us as soon as the HP-2 was announced. They might as well just lock and close the beta thread. What a farce that was.

Well, they're losing out. I'm sure I'm not the only one that didn't buy a 436, 536, or HP-2 because of their lack of desire to fix issues. Like you said, they're only interested in the new customers. Once they have your money, they don't care anymore.

I've had nothing to add.

Great. Thanks for leaving everyone hanging in there for almost 6 months, with the hopes Uniden was gonna fix the HP-1. You could have just announced it was dead and closed the thread.

It should be obvious to all that the firmware beta testing had very little to do with the HP-1, and was in preparation for implementation into the HP-2. Uniden simply wanted to refine the firmware by testing it in the HP-1. The whole series of updates after 2.03 were problematic, and they simply were trying to find the best firmware set to release with the HP-2. Not to say that the updates did not help some who were having issues with the HP-1, but for the most part Uniden needed to get input as to what worked and what didn't prior to implementing it into the HP-2. I don't think that Uniden has completely abandoned the HP-1, but obviously it is on the "back burner" right now given the problems with the 536 feature implementation.

Upon reflection, you're probably right.

It's also possible that they found that there are too many variables for a one-size-fits-all solution, or that they haven't come to a solution yet (hence haven't issued a new FW version).

After all, even the posts here say the test versions improved some systems, and made others worse.

As many varieties of P25 as there are, it's no wonder that the same "settings" won't work on all of them.

Also, given their other mandated priorities, it's no wonder they haven't had a chance to do anything yet.
