Firmware Update BC796D

I think I need a firmware update for my BC796D but don't know how to go about it. How can I tell what version I have at the moment and how do I update it? Thanks.

I don't remember the keystrokes for checking the firmware version, but here are the instructions on how to get the rebanding firmware updates for the 796

The update when in just fine. I didn't realize how old my firmware was. Now I just have to figure out how to program the digital trunker frequencies using ProScan.
