Firmware update for bcd396t

I get the following error message while trying to update from ver 1.09.00 to the latest version on unidens web site.

"This scanner is not an object for BCD396T. Rewriting is impossible. Please turn off the power and remove the cable."

I tried re-downloading the firmware update file but that wasn't it. The firmware updater program worked fine on the 796D. Any ideas?

You will need both the Firmware:

BCD396T_V1_11_03.zip

and the loader program:

Install_BC_VUP_v1.0.0.8.exe

Both programs can be found here:

The program that you have for the BC796D won't work for the BCD396T.

I figured out what I was doing wrong. Thanks. BTW the loader is the same. That worked fine. I just had a little brain fade.

Can I guess....was it incorrect COM port?

No I was pressing L/O and #2 instead of L/O and #6 when the AC adapter is plugged in.
