Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I am missing something while trying to do a firmware update via Radio Management using WiFi.

I am able to successfully program radios by Wifi and it works great. However, when I try to do a firmware update, I get an error message that reads "RMC did not find any available packages to import". I do have the newest firmware package loaded in the computer for the MotoTRBO CPS.

Are there different packages for using RM or does something special need to be done?

You need to load the packages into RM. Import or whatever they call it on the new version. TT

I tried. I selected IMPORT > FIRMWARE from the actions button (green button, upper left). I get a spinning wheel and that message comes up.

You cannot import the latest version of firmware into the RMS. There is an FSB out covering that issue from a few months ago but Motorola has yet to fix it. Only way around right now is to update the old fashioned way then re-read the radio back in. I'm not in a position right now to easily retrieve the bulletin but can later today.

Thanks for that info. I'll log onto MOL and look for it. I know there is an issue with R02.60.03 and the connection to RM being lost. I upgraded two radios by wire to the newest firmware and it resolved that. Unfortunately, I have 170 radios to upgrade.....

Try importing the new firmware using RM Configuration Client (configuration mode, new blue icon) instead of MOTOTRBO CPS. It will then be available to use on the CPS (template mode) side. That's the workaround the FSB mentions.

It's FSB11107. You know, I didn't go to the actual FSB until now, just read the initial email so I wasn't aware they listed that workaround. Thanks! They list 2.7's expected release to be November but here it is late December and still no update. Oh well.

I have not done them yet, just a single radio. This is going to be a new system and I'm in the process of laying everything out.
