Where is Analyze working? They removed it from the menu with that last batch of software.

You can either use RH536 to access some of it, or, if you are comfortable opening a serial session (with something like puTTY or Hyperterminal), you can use serial commands. Look at the "Remote Command Plan" at the bottom of the 536 Firmware Update page on Uniden's wiki, specifically at the AST (Analyze Start) command, and in general pages 8 thru 13.

536 plans for analyze support are in a few weeks. 436 plans to follow a few weeks after that.

Analyze is working in the 536 to an extent right now. And Paul has stated that that's what they're working on now. So it's a safe bet that it will only be a surprise to those who aren't paying attention. :)

Analyze would be nice, but it would piss off the HP-2 people like me that paid $50 to add analyze and discover to our radios. I don't need it in my 436!

I would be happy to have the Close Call improvement they released for the 536. I'm surprised they didn't do both at the same time. I guess it will be coming soon.

Lets see what the definition of a "FEW WEEKS" is.
Getting close, hopefully soon.

But, history tells us it could be somewhere between 2-52 weeks.

Looks like its going to be a while before the 436 firmware is upgraded.
Disappointed, but not surprised.

Regarding the clock issue, from UPMan:

"We are still working with engineering to determine a timeline for this update. Note that we are prioritizing this work ahead of other firmware tasks, so developing this fix will delay slightly the release of the Analyze functions for the BCD436HP and BCD536HP beyond what I had previously estimated.
Again, Uniden cannot even begin to apologize enough for this issue. We do thank you for your patience and understanding."

Seems like the 436HP analyze and control channel search is pretty much right at the bottom of a rapidly expanding list of goals and priorities.

Since the release of the BCD436HP, we have had the HP2 released, the development of the BCD996P2 and the development of the BCD352P2. This in addition to the seperate and unique problems that the 'wonderfull' BCD536HP raises.

Uniden is going to need a team of software engineers the size of Microsoft if they ever intend to make up lost ground, let alone get on top of these problems.

Sorry Uniden and Voyager, but this is simply not good enough - Not by a long shot!

Excuses, followed by new product releases that will innevitably lead to yet more delays, followed by more excuses, followed by more apologies - lather, rinse, repeat.... Uniden's current M.O

Oh, go play in traffic.. if they'd said "we have a solution for the clock problem but we're going to focus on releasing analyze first", you and your ilk would be pitching a fit about that instead.

I just got back from a trip to an area full of simulcast P25 systems, and I took along my 436, which performed beautifully over 8 days and 800 miles of travel. When I needed to do some analysis? That's what the HP1 and the SDR sticks in my computer bag were for.

If you can't live without one singular feature for just a little longer, perhaps it's time to find another hobby.

Well Hell.. Maybe I should..

In fact, maybe all the people on this forum who feel that they have been slighted by Uniden, should leave also. Afterall, this forum would be all the better for the lack of any discenting voices, wouldn't it.

Maybe we could all start up a competing 'Uniden Bashing' forum or maybe a Uniden complaints facebook account where we can all vent.

Then Jay, you and Voyager could lurk here, patting each other on the back for a job well done and generally having a nice uninterrupted 'love in'.

Go 'Play in Traffic'?

Well, if there were any doubt about your mental age Jay, that comment certainly dispels any doubts.

Have a nice day everyone :)

Correction - 1 month gone and they're working at giving the people with clock battery problems a solution.

Uniden said a few weeks for the 436, then abandoned the 436 again to solve the clock issue.
The clock issue has been a known issue for 9 months.

If Uniden solves 1 problem at a time, and Uniden changes their minds on which 1 problem they will attempt solve, its going to take a long long time to catch up.
