Need some input and I don't know whether I am in the right group. I have a BCD996t with 1.04.12 firmare update. Does firmware update affect what I receive or should I say sensitivity?

Your firmware is quite old, the current firmware for that scanner is 3.02.00, issued about a year ago. There have been no new updates since then.

Are you sure you don't have a BCD996XT unit? Current firmware on those is 1.06.00.

The XT went from 1.04.00 to 1.06.00

The T had the 1.04.12

BCD996t firmware.

Installed the updated 3.02.12 firmware with no issues. It makes quite a difference from the 1.04.12
