I heard the idle no more movement on talkgroup Delta 2
Local chief and family on Papa 1 and 2 using these P25 radios like they
are FRS radios. PA Dispatch is not doing anything about it.

I asume by "PA" you mean Prince Albert?

Where exactly? And what reserve?

What about industry Canada, or by PA you mean Office of he Fire commissioner who regulates these radios, or RCMP since it is their system as well?

PA = Dispatch in Prince Albert.
Standing Buffalo is the FNR.
They are also on Echo 2 and ICS 3.
These radios and all the talkgroups are for emergency use only.
They are using handles like on CB radios now.
OFC should be hearing them.

Idle No More

They have now stopped playing on the PPSTN.
Have a look at this file from Jan 28, 2013 INM protest.

Due to the sensitive nature of their comms they have asked for ENC talk groups and radios:)

We have a bit of a similar situation here in Alberta but the fire radios and repeaters are supplied by the Federal government. Usually they are on National Parks frequencies. Just east of Edmonton the Stony Plain reserve (Enoch) allows you to hear the incoming calls. It seems more like a taxi service to pick up people and cigarettes than a fire service.

We'll have to watch for tg's for First Nations once the AFRRCS is online here.

The INM highway 2 blockade south of Edmonton attracted lots of EPS resources and RCMP members from all over the place. The blocking the highway to Ft. McMurray threat has lost a bit of steam. The weather closed it for over 24 hours and was a major inconvenience for travellers but not a huge deal.
