Just got this one about 2 minutes ago. This is my first Pirate Radio Station QSL hopefully not my last. This is what they wrote.

Hello Mike,

Thanks for tuning into Radio Mushroom. We tapped into the core of a nuclear reactor and created another mushroom cloud.

It is great that your first pirate is Radio Mushroom and also your first Pirate QSL Card is from Radio Mushroom as well.

We've been on for about a year now and you heard our 9th show. We issue a different mushroom cloud QSL for every new broadcast.

Hope to hear from you again.

Radio Mushroom

Cool! I've been trying to catch pirates scanning the bands but have yet to find any...how did you get into contact with them to get the QSL? I assume they gave out contact info during the broadcast but I could be wrong.

And yes they often announce a mail drop (or sometimes require a report be sent to a magazine or club like MT, PopComm or NASWA) for QSLs. It's usually a good idea to audio record the program so if you missed hearing it, you're not SOL

Nothing shady about it. They broadcast mostly music. Most of these pirates homebrew the AM transmitters they broadcast on.
