I just received a Uniden BC75XLT scanner for my Birthday. I have been able to download the software for programming the scanner but when I download the usb drivers and try to write to scanner I get error message "Writing to Scanner Failed COM port not selected.

The scanner is connected via USB cable that came with the unit. I downloaded the CP210x_VCP_Windows.zip file from BC75XLT < UnidenMan4 < TWiki the instruction at https://www.scannermaster.com/driver_installation_uniden_police_scanners_a/385.htm tell me to navigate to a folder called "uniden_usbser" but no such folder exists.

Appreciate the help

Thanks

What version of Windows are you running? Do you see the Uniden Serial Port device and is it healthy in Device Manager the way it shows at the end of the Scanner!aster help page? That would confirm the driver installed and is functioning. I assume you tried a reboot after installing the driver? Does Windows pop up any indication that the scanner is connected when you plug in the usb cable?
