Summit County: Two deaths at Keystone today, 1st was medical 68 y/o male from the Denver area and 2nd was trauma related snowboarder vs tree.

PRESS RELEASE


On 12/13/08 at 12:00pm, this office was notified of a 69-year-old male who was found unresponsive at the junction of Silver Spoon & Modest Girl Ski runs at Keystone. There was no evidence of a collision or trauma. The name of the decedent is William Sanko of Castle Rock. He had been skiing and it appears to be a medical event. An autopsy has been ordered.

On 12/13/08 at 16:15hrs, this office was notified of a 28-year-old male, unhelmeted snowboarder who had been at Keystone on the Prospector Run when he apparently hit a tree. The decedent was taken to St. Anthony’s Central in Denver where he was pronounced at dead 15:00. It appears that he had a closed head injury and skull fractures. Investigation is ongoing and no further information is available at this time. The decedent’s name is Adam Delaney of Englewood, Colorado.
