Last night OPP in Haliburton had a stand off in Dorset. The Haliburton dispatch 2opps36 (Smiths falls) came on 2opps41 Bracebridge asking for any Huntsville or Bracebridge cars to assist (2opps41 is Dispatched by Orillia). 2 cars responded from Muskoka and were told to switch to 2opps36, Now this is the strange part, The Orillia comm centre switched over to 2opps36 also and was talking to all the units responding and with the Smiths falls comm centre on 2opps36. Now I have heard comm centre's talk to each other on the area wide channels and on simplex. Now today I just heard the same thing Orillia comm centre calling on 2opps48 W Parry Sound (Northbay Comm centre) to assist with a MVC on HWY 400 in Georgian Bay twp One unit responded and was asked by Northbay comm to switch to 2opps41, when clearing the scene the Parry Sound car cleared with Orillia comm and when Orillia cleared Northbay comm said it copied as well and to switch back to 2opps48. Now as I said before I have heard this in the past on the area wide groups or hearing a request relay through dispatch but now now hearing direct out of zone calling this is something new here.

I would think this has to do with the fact that Orillia dispatches on both Zone 1 and Zone 2 Fleetnet systems, which would I'm sure give them access to all the Zone 2 talkgroups as well.

Maybe someone was actually comfortable talking on the other talkgroup, other dispatchers might just have the Comm Centre in control of the call, do all the talking.
