Hello fellow radio enthusiasts!
I am very new into the SDR scene, having started out with an RTL-SDR v4, and a simple dipole antenna. Thus far, I have tried using GQRX on my laptop running antiX 32 bit (a Debian 12 derivative).
I got reception, but known frequencies were way different from what it took to find them on gqrx. For example, to find the FM radio station at 99.1, you would have to tune to 54.5.
I noticed when I followed the instructions to purge the old drivers for the v4, that my system also removed gqrx along with it. I'm suspecting that when I subsequently reinstalled gqrx, it "undid" the work I did for swapping the drivers.
Is my problem most likely caused by the 32-bit version of gqrx being behind in support? I have yet to try 64-bit OS, but I did do a clean install of antiX 64-bit the other night in preparation for my next run.
Or is there something else I am overlooking?
