fitting a new squech control to a 796

hi guys, im from australia i have a 796 here im chasing a squech control as well as the plastic knob that goes with it, im wondering if this is a big job to replace the squelch knob or is it a technicians job, i assume also bcz the model was never sold in australia id have to order the squelch knob and pot from uniden usa, any replies welcome,thanks david nsw australia

I would be interested in that as well. The plastic knob for my squelch control for my 780 just broke in half one day. It looks like the same as the control for a 796.
