If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knows the exact flashcode option that is needed to have MDC1200 ID's to show up on the screen of my XTS5000 Model II. Now My radio has H14 Enhanced Digital ID Display in the flashcode and when recieving digital audio the keyed up radio's ID shows up just fine. But on conventional analog point to point I do not see the ID's pop up on the screen. Now on my XTS5000 Model III I do see it. So I am sure it is just a flashcode option that I need in the radio, i'm just not sure which one. Any help you guys can give is much appreciated.

It is a 5. The radio has enhanced digital I'd display in the flashcode options. Just not sure if I'm not doing something right in the cps to make the Id's show on the screen properly.

I got it figured out. I just had to adjust the amount of time the ID displays on the screen under the PTT-ID setting in the CPS. It was set to 0 seconds.
