I have the BC796D now, and getting ready to program it. Looking through the instructions, it calls for selecting a preprogrammed fleetmap or "user custom". After looking through my older info and new info from this website, I don't seem to have anything on Columbus having a fleetmap. Can anyone help with this?
I know what the Dec numbers are (talkgroups), but what does the Hex number correspond to?
I programmed my older BC trunk tracker about five years ago, but this new one sure has a lot of bells and whistles. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I got the Hex part...

After reading more, I get it, Hex is used to find the trunk id's. But I'm still not understanding the size code, for Columbus? It says Fleetmap, None, for Columbus.

The Columbus and Franklin County systems are Motorola Type II systems.
There is no need to worry about a fleetmap, A fleetmap pertains to Type I systems and there are very few of them left. I don't know of any Type I systems in Columbus area.

So just set up your Columbus and Franklin County systems as 800 MHz Type II.

Don't worry about Hex either. Talkgroups are normally displayed in decimal format. Hex formats more or less pertain to trunktracking software.

If you are trying to program the Columbus Police and Fire there is no fleetmap needed since it is a Type II system. Use the Dec column for the talkgroups. You don't do anything with the Hex numbers.
