I am having trouble with reception of EMS on my pro97 off the Cedarwoods tower. My old pro94 works well all over the region but my pro97, which I program with win97, only works when I'm right in the area of the Cedarwoods tower. I've tried several antennas, stock duckie, RS 800mhz, tuned 142mhz etc. Any clues would be greatly appreciated!!

First, does the PRO-97 seem to have normal sensitivity on conventional channels (comparing with another receiver)? That would be your "baseline".

Second, have you programmed the Fleenet system channels with the Attenuator on (however it's done, I don't have a '97)? This could help you in cases of signal overload, which can cause poor sensitivity. On the other hand, it will reduce the overall sensitivity, and therefore limits you to strong-signal situations. Whichever it's set at, give the opposite setting a try.

I've tried the attenuator on & off. I also have edacs systems in there that work fine. Like I said, my pro-94 works great with fleetnet all around the region but the 97 loses it beyond a couple of miles from the tower. The only difference between the 2 radios is that I use win97 to program the 97. It's my first time using winsoft with fleetnet so I thought maybe I was doing something wrong. Thanks for your thoughts though.

Hey Rob

I've had one of these since May and in KW as well.. You ever get this ironed out? I can help you with a clone of my working set up or a copy of my P97 file.

Regards

Bill B

Hey Bill. Thanks for the offer! I'd love to see your p97 file if you can post it or email to me at-- 69stiles@rogers.com

Like I said, the pro-94 is picking it up no prob here in Baden but the 97 is only good within a km or 2 from the Cedarwoods tower.

Thanks a lot

Perfect. Just as well as my 95 & 94. The reason I bought the 97 was to pick up fleetnet. All the edacs stuff comes in well region wide but the ems on fleetnet, I have to be within vision of the tower
