I'm programming my 396XT with FleetNet sites for Northwestern Ontario, (been doing it for years for years). I've noticed something that I've always wondered about and never asked.

A bunch of the sites I regularly travel import from RR as system type Mot Custom/Reband Type II and others in a different area are indicated as system type MOT VHF band.

Both seem to work as programmed, but I wonder why the difference when the whole FleetNet network for most areas has always been the same. Will this make any difference?

A few sites have always been mysteriously quiet and I'm looking for differences but I'm not thinking this makes much difference as long as everything else is the programmed as it comes from RR. I import directly from the RR database and it's always been like this. Why the difference?

There is a field "P25 wait time" where one has 0 and one has 400., I can' t think that these settings can just be frivolous settings that I don't need to confirm and match. I believe I have always heard traffic from these sites as programmed however even though programmed with a few different settings.

It sure will.
Out here the local company changes the system all the time. Overnight it goes from LTR to NXDN, etc , as they migrate over their subscribers.

Right now I'm trying to track a BC/WA state NXDN rental system. The SYS id changed and the BC company keeps cycling through the freq's they are licensed to, and dependant on their relation with IC advisor if they have one. They will use a frequency willy-nilly without necessary coordination into the US. It appears to always be in a state of flux.

With the ones you never hear, they could have changed or the freq's go away and they turn off the repeater.
There is a rule about loading on the system ( I dont know the exact details) but if there are no users, they typically will turn it down)

The way I have FleetNet set up with Freescan 2.19 is

For the System: Mot Type II/P25
For the 9 sites I monitor, each of them are: Mot Custom/Reband Type II

For Zone 4 you need this Custom Band Plan I have listed below.

Lower Freq 141.015 Upper Freq. 143.985 Step 15.0 Offset 380

No monitoring issues.

Are you saying your Zone 4 sites are all Mot Custom/Reband Type II as well?

The band plan you referenced, does get populated on a RR import, as well as 2 others on the table. So I’m assuming I can just leave them all in there.

Yes, you being a Premium Subscriber, it's quite easy to upload. If you ever travel to Ottawa or Toronto, you will need the second band plan as well as the first. Load all 3 up.

And lastly, I also put the P25 wait time to 400 as the original ones all seemed to be. When they were labeled as VHF there was no wait time specified.
So all sites across all of Zone 3 and Zone 4 are now Mot Custom/Reband Type II, full band plan and P25 wait time of 400.

Yes, you should be good to go now. I also have P25 wait time of 400. I also have Control Channel Only check-marked.
