Hello all;

Anyone know why a scanner would 'stick' on talkgroups after transmissions, even with the squelch turned up? The static becomes somewhat annoying....it's happening on a Pro-94 with a 144/414 antenna, but only in the office, not when mobile. Scan mode, obviously.

Thanks for the help,

ES

That's usually an indication that the scanner is missing the indication
of end-of-transmission so does not go back to the CC. Most likely cause
is interference that fools the scanner into thinking the voice channel is
still active. Try attenuation to see if that helps. Some scanners allow you
to go back to CC on detection of an "end code" but not sure about older
scanners like the PRO-94, or if it would help.

I'm about a 12 minute drive away from the tower I'm monitoring...and this is only happening inside, so I'm wondering if its just the weakened signal from being inside four walls...

Or possibly RF intereference from computer, LAN, or other equipment. Try
listening on frequencies in manual (non-trunked) mode.
