SoCo Sheriff released this on Facebook:
***Attention Crisfield, Mt. Vernon, Deal Island, and Fairmount residences, due to the high tide cycle and multiple roads closed it is recommended that everyone stay inside until the water goes down. Driving in the water is creating a problem with different resources being used to rescue people stranded in the water trying to make it through and not for actual fire/EMS and police calls. If you are in a residence now please stay there until morning or until the tide goes down. Enforcement will be made of people driving on the roadways that are closed.***

unbelievable flooding. I've only seen this much water after Hurricane Sandy.

many calls to responders. Crisfield residents were complaining that people driving down the street were splashing water ('bow wave') into their houses.
the Crisfield Library needed emergency vehicle to evacuate their staff.
