just an observation here, will wait for those who have been around FL for longer than myself to chime in.

It appears that many of the low-band 44 MHz state park licenses were allowed to lapse in the 2014-ish time frame. The chart below lists in YELLOW the licenses that are cancelled / expired. Green text = active. (District 3 has no low band licenses)

So the question is ---- are any of these state parks still using 44.76 and 44.96?

I've seen alot of new VHF stuff pop up but have never heard any Jax. If they use them they must be simplex or very low power. I am usually in Downtown or Baymeadows area and nothing. You think I would hear Guana State Park if it was a repeater. I've had Little Talbot Island VHF in the scanner for several years and nothing.

It has been since 2012 I lived by that area as I can remember I didn't see no Rangers there when I was walking and looking around to check out a few things. Samething with the Favor Dykes.

for those that are interested in some cross referencing / database lookups --- attached here is the complete FCC dump for all "Division of Recreation and Parks" licenses. There >ARE< holes in the current Florida parks RR Db page:

(holes = there are sites on the attached pages that are not in the database - and there are some sites - example WQCM423 for Dagney Johnson Key Largo Hammock Botanical State park - where only one freq is in the RR Db - but there is an additional pair in the license)

YMMV -

I'll take a look at the pdf and see what I have in my travel setup I think there is 1 for Jackson Cnty missing unless they use the same tower both parks.

I can confirm that Mike Roess Gold Head Branch State Park is on VHF High. I live in Keystone Heights, and they are working fine on 159.4575 with a CTCSS of 151.4. Database isn't correct. 159.4575 is output freq., and 155.7825 is the input unknown CTCSS. WQPY229 is their license. Not sure how far their range is but since I live within one mile of the backside of the SP, I hear them fine when I'm listening and they're turned on in my groups. The old license is no longer active.
