What's some good frequencies to put into my scanner that I could possibly catch on the flyby?

I'm trying to think of other things to put into the radio. I listen to pretty much everything else right police fire EMS amateur repeaters and everything else i could listen to.

Recently I put in some satellites and low and behold I actually heard a few things.

AO-85, 91, 92, FUNcube, Diwata-2 just to name the ones I put in.

Using a 436 with an outside discone antenna.

Just looking for FM frequencies VHF/UHF doesn't matter.

Not looking for antenna suggestions or anything like that.

I just wanna plug in some known used satellites that I could pull out of the air.

My location is Eastern Ontario Canada

Some of these could be wrong or out of commission, but they're probably accurate. Some of the ISS stuff I noted is SSTV and APRS. The APRS packets you'll have a better chance of hearing daily. The SSTV stuff is once or twice a year lately, but that could change to more or less.

AO-92 (FOX-1D) 43137
UP: 435.350
DN: 145.880
Modes: Voice FM

TechnoSAT 42829
UP: 435.950
DN: 435.950
Modes: FM CW 4k8 GMSK

IO-86 (LAPAN-A2/ORARI) 40931
UP: 435.880
DN: 145.880
Modes: FM
APRS: 145.825 Digi

ISS (RS0ISS) 25544
APRS UP/DN: 437.550 (Rarely used for APRS)

ISS (NA1SS) 25544
UP: 145.20 / 144.49
DN: 145.800 (This freq is also used for SSTV from ISS using PD120)
Mode: Voice FM

ISS (RS0ISS)
APRS UP/DN: 145.825 (Not for voice, but can get busy with APRS)

SO-50 (SaudiSat-1c) 27607
UP: 145.850
DN: 436.795
Modes: FM 67.0Hz tone

AO-85 (Fox-1A)
UP: 437.172
DN: 145.980
Modes: FM 67.0Hz tone

AO-92 (FOX-1D) 43137
UP: 435.350
DN: 145.880
Modes: Voice FM

Still working and easy to hear with a decent omni antenna.

TechnoSAT 42829
UP: 435.950
DN: 435.950
Modes: FM CW 4k8 GMSK

Never heard of this one. Probably long gone.

IO-86 (LAPAN-A2/ORARI) 40931
UP: 435.880
DN: 145.880
Modes: FM
APRS: 145.825 Digi

No footprint in PA, let alone Canada.

ISS (RS0ISS) 25544
APRS UP/DN: 437.550 (Rarely used for APRS)

ISS (NA1SS) 25544
UP: 145.20 / 144.49
DN: 145.800 (This freq is also used for SSTV from ISS using PD120)
Mode: Voice FM

There is an SSTV event going on RIGHT NOW (until the 14th, I believe), but there seems to be a problem with FM modulator. (we are seeing S9 carriers, but the actual SSTV modulation is very weak)

ISS (RS0ISS)
APRS UP/DN: 145.825 (Not for voice, but can get busy with APRS)

Usually active, but occasionally sporadic due to aging equipment. Both the transceiver and tnc failed over the last couple of years and were replaced with flight spares, but even so - the hardware is like 20 years old. Donate at ARISS.org to help get modern equipment up to the ISS.

SO-50 (SaudiSat-1c) 27607
UP: 145.850
DN: 436.795
Modes: FM 67.0Hz tone

Oldest working FM sat still orbiting, and dead reliable. Hard to hear with an omni, though.

AO-85 (Fox-1A)
UP: 437.172
DN: 145.980
Modes: FM 67.0Hz tone

Battery problems. Only switched on when in continuous direct sunlight. Check AMSAT OSCAR Satellite Status to see if it's on, or get the scoop direct from the Amsat telemetry website here: Fox Server Leaderboard

AO-91 (Fox-1B, Radfxsat) 43017
UP: 435.250
DN: 435.250
Modes: Voice FM

Like AO-92, this one is easy to hear with a decent omni antenna.

LilacSat-2 (CAS-3H)
UP: 144.350
DN: 437.200
Modes: FM (No CTCSS/PL)

Only switched on occasionally. Check the Amsat status page or SatNogs (SatNOGS Network - Observations )to see if it's on.

There is also a newish satellite called "Diwata-2", designated as PO-101 that has an FM transponder that is occasionally switched on over North America.

Thank you for the status updates of that list and the addition of PO-101.

Yesterday, the ISS signal was indeed strong and had me puzzled at first thinking it was a polarization issue; the modulation was indeed quite low.

As to APRS on the ISS, I thought I read that a D710AG was sent up, or was going to be sent up. I have not RX/TX any packets to the ISS in a while, so I am out of the loop.

There is a new modified D710G, along with custom power supply, that is going to be going up to the ISS in the future. My current understanding is that it is not 100% approved, yet, and thus the request for more dollars to complete the testing. The D710 is modified to specifically operate the three modes that ARISS supports (voice, APRS, SSTV), as well as having additional cooling added to operate at higher duty cycles (hopefully to allow for cross band repeating). The power supply is designed to be able to be used in any ISS module, as I guess the different organizations (NASA, Roscosmos, ESA, etc.) use different voltages. Until then, all packet is on the old Ericsson HT w/custom packet module (located in the columbia module?) - and I believe the school contacts are on the old D710 (or is it a D700?) located in the Russian service module.

The digipeater on 145.825 is currently working, TX seems good, but is not great on the RX. I hear it on most higher passes.
