Hello all,

I'm sure that this question might be a Uniden specific forum question (but for some reason I'm not able to post in that forum). Anyway, the question I have is does it make any difference in the quality of receiving the CHP frequencies in the 39-45 mhz range when the Uniden 996T automatically lists these frequencies to NFM rather than regular FM. Several people have said CHP isn't narrowbanding these frequencies and all low band frequencies here in the DB are listed as FM mode.

I'm just curious if I should switch them from NFM to FM,

Thanks so much.

…and the audio will sound distorted if you listen to a wide band (FM) frequency in narrow band (NFM) mode, but not unintelligible. It may sound "louder" if your radio is in NFM mode.
VHF Low band was not required to go narrow band like most of VHF High and UHF were back on January 01, 2013.
