Hello,

I get one year fast lane and last distribution of DSD+ / FMP.
It works fine but i noticed that FMP24 cpu load is about 4 % when starting (like FMP 4% also, sdr sharp is at 8 %) but grows to 40 % after 5 to 15 minuts running on a fast machine with Win10 64 bits. On old machine (win10 64 bits also) it grows from 20 % to 100 % cpu load. It was on scanner mode with two frequencies, but load did not fall when i stop scan.
I repeat 3/3 time the issue , also after reboot.
The conditions are direct FMPx linking on port 20001 for FMP24 version 01 june 2022 0h50.
So i prefer use FMP with VBCable for the moment.
Did someone notice that ?

Cheers

Same problem if FMP24 is in audio (VB-Cable) mode, tried also in Windows 7 compatibility mode, cpu load 40 % after 5 minuts.
FMP is ok with 1 % to 3 % cpu load.

When running, hit L in Fmp24 and do a lost I/Q test.

Also Toggle E in Fmp24 and see if it makes a difference.

Active keys:
0-9 . Enter set frequency
[/] select step size
Cursor </> step frequency
Ctrl Csr </> step frequency by 250 Hz

A toggle auto center tuning
D cycle audio demodulation mode
Q toggle squelch mode
U toggle unlicensed spectrum display mode
M toggle spectrum memory overlay
X reset spectrum memory
Z toggle spectrum zoom overlay
I select injection mode
b/B select RF bandpass filter
T select tight or standard RF bandpass filter set
t enable/disable bias tee
N select noise filter
L toggle lost I/Q data test mode
E toggle extra CPU load to reduce I/Q dropout
s
Cursor ^/v adjust volume level
spacebar toggle muting

Thanks a lot Dave,

The CPU load after 5 minits was exactly the load when E is pressed to activate CPU loading. When i deactivate cpu load, it falls from 29% (for FMP24 only) to 2 %.
I never had lost IQ but the automatic CPU loading was loading my CPU (Intel G7400) after 5 minits and didn't go out (i don't think i pressed e key).
My batch now (no -e before) : FMP24 -rc -i1 -e0 -o20001 -P0.0 -b12.5 -f438.500 -g36
Here is IQ lost with or without cpu loading : (zero IQ lost)
---------------------------------------------------------------------
20:33:52 Lost I/Q data test initiated

I/Q sample count Errors Rate Avg Rate
---------------- ------ ---- --------
20:35:27 399,712,000 (No data loss detected)

I add -e0 in command line of FMP24 batch and it seems to be OK. CPU load of FMP24 is about 1 or 2 %.
Thanks a lot again, but what a funny idea to add load to CPU ?

Cheers

This software is very good work and works fine, i have just a suggestion.
It would be good if the -e0 deactivate the E on/off keyboard possibility, to avoid accidental cpu load. The -e1 and -e2 permit to on/off load function with e key. On old machine cpu become hot if load is active, and possibly burns out.
