Nice info, especially links to the nitty gritty. NWS only gave my local weather I get anyway.
For a long time I have a MaCom Orion I can monitor the broadcasts. ( only 2 stations cover here)
I programmed the SelCal with single tone to alert for events.
This new ( not really) SAME, I see some upgrading, maybe my modem can handle that.

Bought a Regency ACT-C1W brand new in 1979 from the
long-gone Zackit Electronics store in Sacramento.
Still have it, still works like the day I got it.
NOAA Radio is one of the few things the gub'mint
spent our $$ on that actually works IMHO...
