two different style stores.steve9570- It's a sign of the times.
HAM Radio Outlet is so big now with loads of locations up and down the East Coastline.
I've not had the occasion to visit HRO in NH, but I will say, recently I visited HRO in the Atlanta area... garbage, waste of time (clueless, indifferent sales help..perhaps my 'Yankee" accent set the stage). My wife of 45+ years said to me "You were so excited to stop at this place, what happened?" To which I replied: "Some things are best left unsaid". For a while traveling down Buford (yep "Buford") Highway to HRO I thought I was back in Saigon.steve9570- It's a sign of the times.

PD47JD- I purchased a Yauesu FT-65R from them and NEVER will I EVER buy (purchase) from them again. Needless to say, I sold this item to a person in Delaware for $20 less than I paid.I've not had the occasion to visit HRO in NH, but I will say, recently I visited HRO in the Atlanta area... garbage, waste of time (clueless, indifferent sales help..perhaps my 'Yankee" accent set the stage). Hopefully, HRO in NH is better...a lot better.

I think Best Buy is more likely to go before Micro Center does.I guess the next best thing in the area is Micro Center.. as long as they don't go the way of Fry's...
There were Heathkit stores in Peabody and Wellesley back then.Did they sell Heathkits in the 1980's? I believe I bought and my IM-2215 multimeter kit there. Still have it and the thick leather case.

“You-Do-It” Electronics Center announces store closure
After 75 years of selling electronics in Needham, the “You-do-it” Electronics Center is preparing to close later this year.www.boston.com
Ahhh, ok thanks. That rings a bell. So long ago. I live in the greater-Boston area back then. There were Heathkit stores in Peabody and Wellesley back then.
I honestly don't know how Best Buy stays in business. They almost always have the worst prices and when I read the police logs the one nearest to me is shoplifted constantly.I think Best Buy is more likely to go before Micro Center does.
Yes and no. They had a pretty good selection of books/magazines for amateurs and I got a lot of my Rohn G25 stuff there.two different style stores.
HRO is Amateur Radio
You-do-It is/was parts/accessories and the closest to Amateur radio that got was Itinerant Business Band Radios
Used to go to the Heathkit Store in Warwick RI Back then !There were Heathkit stores in Peabody and Wellesley back then.
True but other than CB's and Scanners, they only sold business portables and never carried Amateur Radio, even RS carried more two-way than You-Do-itYes and no. They had a pretty good selection of books/magazines for amateurs and I got a lot of my Rohn G25 stuff there.
