I've not had the occasion to visit HRO in NH, but I will say, recently I visited HRO in the Atlanta area... garbage, waste of time (clueless, indifferent sales help..perhaps my 'Yankee" accent set the stage). My wife of 45+ years said to me "You were so excited to stop at this place, what happened?" To which I replied: "Some things are best left unsaid". For a while traveling down Buford (yep "Buford") Highway to HRO I thought I was back in Saigon.
Hopefully, HRO in NH is better...a lot better.

PD47JD- I purchased a Yauesu FT-65R from them and NEVER will I EVER buy (purchase) from them again. Needless to say, I sold this item to a person in Delaware for $20 less than I paid.
That Yaesu was garbage and over-priced too and I missed my return window, and they wouldn't even bend the rules.
Happy Memorial Day.

and Needham - first was Muzzi Ford, now You-Do-It, who/what is next
Muzi*
When they demolished the building, the contractor attempted to save the Neon "Muzi" sign, but the mounts were so badly corroded, there was no option but to destroy it.

In St.Louis we had Electronics Exchange. Sort of a big room full of stuff. If you knew the owner you could go downstairs where the stuff from upstairs was relegated because it didn’t sell.

Also Gateway Electronics. I spent a lot of my paychecks there.

Did they sell Heathkits in the 1980's? I believe I bought and my IM-2215 multimeter kit there. Still have it and the thick leather case.

There were Heathkit stores in Peabody and Wellesley back then.

I think Best Buy is more likely to go before Micro Center does.
I honestly don't know how Best Buy stays in business. They almost always have the worst prices and when I read the police logs the one nearest to me is shoplifted constantly.

I bought 99% of my Scanners and CB stuff and Ham at You Blew It over the past 40 or so years.
Even had a family member who worked there. The last 10 years or so they had nothing to sell that I needed or wanted. The upstairs closed thats when I knew the end was near.

Yes and no. They had a pretty good selection of books/magazines for amateurs and I got a lot of my Rohn G25 stuff there.
