Unless analyze works with Siren and they're still ironing out issues, in which case they might be more inclined to release it as a package deal on the 536 and then on the 436, or both at the same time....?

But the 436hp doesn't have siren ??

Speculating their focus is on perfecting the firmware and analyze feature on one scanner (536 w/Siren) then carrying over any interchangeable functionality to the 436. Or maybe the display type as some have mentioned is the reason for the holdup...or neither.

Hopefully Uniden learned from the issues of the x36/x96/HP1 receiver flaws in decoding CQPSK and designed a proper I/Q receiver for the HP2...

I think Upman's theory is that if he hasn't got anything to say, he doesn't say anything. So the inference should be if nothing is said, then there is no new information of relative importance.

I'm of mixed thought on that. On one hand that makes sense. But on the other, I get that "warm/fuzzy" feeling when updates are posted, even if it's "We are still working on it, nothing really new to report, but just wanted to keep you advised". Probably more reassurance that "whatever" hasn't been shuffled off to the back burner or even off the stove.

I am working too. Working on trying to take a nap... Unfortunately my colleagues keep waking me up.

Of course, I don't have time to sleep at work, now, but back in the day I developed a technique...

You know how, if you do doze off at your desk, you tend to wake up knowing that someone is staring at you, but still while your eyes are closed? I found that it puts off all criticism if, before opening my eyes and raising my head, I quietly say "Amen."

I will have to remember that one!

Now see, that wasn't so hard, now was it?

If you can do that about once a week instead of about every five weeks, it will go a long way towards calming the masses.

.... back in the day I developed a technique ...

Many years ago, while working in the Survey Section of a municipal government Engineering Department, a co-worker asked me:

"What are the qualifications needed to become a Civil Engineering 1?" Without expression, I answered "A CE1 has to be able to sleep with one eye open."

At which time another co-worker jumped in and asked: Well then, what about a CE2, what are their qualifications?" Again, without expression, I said "A CE2 has to be able to sleep with both eyes open."

There see? All better now, LOL...

You people do have to admit you asked for that. Explicitly, infact. Well played, Paul.

About all I'd admit to is understanding Upman's position on one hand, and on the other, how I (hopefully being your "average joe customer") appreciate updates every now and then, even if there is nothing of substance.

I really had no specific question/issue at the time I posted my comments.
