I have just purchased a late model 996t probably less than 3 months old..Now what i have found,It has the factory installed firmware 1.03 or whatever it is..Now for some reason this scanner with the virgin firmware decodes ky state police much better than my older units (They are now updated)with latest firmware..However when i had the old firmware in the older 996t's a got a whole lotta brrrrap and machine gunning on those until the firmware was updated..So my question is were there any hardware improvements made during production run?Because the newest scanner with the oldest firmware is darn near flawless 90% better than my old scanner's before i updated them..Can't figure that one out...Thank's
