Sentinel says I have the latest firmware (1.28.14) and won't reinstall it. Is there a way to force a firmware install? I've been emailing with Uniden Tech Support about the DMR issue I posted in another thread. They questioned the firmware and I've asked them this same question but figured I'd get a quicker answer here. I would like to overwrite the firmware just to be sure there's no glitches on the scanner version.

You have to dump an old firmware file in the firmware folder of the SD card and the scanner will load that. Then sentinel will detect that it has an older firmware and will do an update. But be aware that if there have been hardware changes due to components gone obsolete then the old firmware knows nothing about it and could lock up the whole scanner and can't do any more firmware changes and needs to be sent to Uniden.

This is the 1.26.00 firmware BCD436HP_V1_26_00.bin

In my experience - it works, or it doesn't.
Don't fix what ain't broke.
Reloading firmware unless there is an obvious problem falls in this catigory (IMO)
