Former President Ford dead at 93

http://www.wxyz.com/wxyz/nw_national_news/article/0,2132,WXYZ_15925_5239187,00.html

Gerald R. Ford, who picked up the pieces of Richard Nixon's scandal-shattered White House as the 38th and only unelected president in America's history, has died, his wife, Betty, said Tuesday. He was 93.

Ford had battled pneumonia in January 2006 and underwent two heart treatments — including an angioplasty — in August at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.

He was the longest living president, followed by Ronald Reagan, who also died at 93. Ford had been living at his desert home in Rancho Mirage, Calif., about 130 miles east of Los Angeles.

Ford was an accidental president, Nixon's hand-picked successor, a man of much political experience who had never run on a national ticket. He was as open and straight-forward as Nixon was tightly-controlled and conspiratorial.

He is the only Vice President that was not elected to office to later become President. Of course it was his fault we lost Vietnam. Instead of sending in a half million troops to defend Vietnam he let those poor people be over run by the Communist and they later died by the hundred of thousands fleeing Vietnam and Pol Pot slaughtered millions in Cambodia.
Their blood rest upon Presdient Ford's head. He was bad as Joseph Stalin, exc ept he just stood by and watched it happen instead of giving orders to have it done.

He did what he thought was right, and according to his son, who I had the opportunity to hear speak, regretted the decision the rest of his life.

Will we learn from history, is the question?

My dad read this and he said "what is this guy saying or thinking." Thats comming from a 25+ year Military vet and vet of Korean and Vietnam Wars.

It was an unwinnable war from the start, that was our first attempt at fighting a underground gorellia war. One where we couldn't tell the difference between the good and the enemy there. They were all identical twins it seemed.

At time if President Ford would of sent a half of million troops there, this would of prevented this from happening or would it just caused China to send in one million troops??

Let's say President Ford would of sent in 500,000 troops, kept peace and prevented the blood shed. How long would the troops had to stay? They still might of been there today!!!

Who is the troll?

This will be a huge scanner event when the procession comes to Michigan. Just like everytime President Bush comes to town it's a major scanning event for that area.

Not to mention it's news worthy due to him being from Michigan and a famous person of our state not only as a President but as one of the best College Football players to play the game here.

Someone with 2 posts sure has a lot to say. You have the same post wording as the last guy that came here over a "This isn't a scanner news worthy event." And to that guess who the troll was then???
