For the few of us down here in central Alabama, has anyone else heard the phone patch on the State Net (155.01) being used by Fort Deposit PD after 2300 hours? They were dispatched by Lowndes E911 but the call seems to go to what's probably the only officer working and it's always answered as "Fort Deposit Police" The caller is then heard in semi-duplex with the officer. Some of the calls have been pretty funny but one I just heard was for a compaint of drug activity and the officer got the RP's name, address, and phone number. Seems like kind of a bad idea on a conventional, unecrypted channel. Even the lunkheads we have down here can probably figure out how to program a scanner for the State net frequency.
