Try 159.420...that's what they used the last time I was down there...a lot of the NC State Parks use that frequency, some others use 159.240 (Pilot Mountain for sure), 159.225 (Jordan Lake I think) and I've heard Kerr Lake State Rec Area use 159.345

Just to expand a little on my last post, I've noted both 159.240 and 159.225 also used in the coastal areas for Marine Fisheries and 159.345 is also one of the main Wildlife Resources Commission frequencies (along with 159.285 and 159.315) used in the state. From my location here in the Triad, I hear the majority of the state parks on 159.420

I camped at Kerr Lake for two weeks ending July 25 and they were on
163.4125 103.5 Army Corps of Eng
163.4375 103.5 Army Corps of Eng

I think the way it is set up is that some of the campgrounds on the Virginia side..North Bend, Rudds Creek etc are operated by the Army Corps of Engineers which operate on the 163 mhz frequencies. On the NC side, the campgrounds like Satterwhite, Hibernia etc. are operated by the State of NC on land leased from the COE and that's where the 159.345 comes in

I was at Scott Kerr in Wilkes County, which is all Corps. You are correct, the State of NC has a nice Park on John Kerr.

159.285, 159.315 and 159.345 are shared by the Wildlife commission and the SBI. I've not heard State Parks on 159.24 or 159.225, but 159.42 is used at every Park I've been to so far.
