The family is going to be cruising out of Port Everglades later this summer. We will be spending a couple of days at a hotel in the area of Federal Highway and SE 17th St. before the cruise.

Can someone from the area tell me what law enforcement channel or channels I need to listen to in that area? Is the main dispatch channel a Fort Lauderdale PD channel or Broward County SO channel?

Any other words of wisdom regarding our visit would also be appreciated.

That area is covered by FLPD District 3, talkgroup 29264 on the 1f25 Broward County Trunked system. The area inside Port Everglades is covered by Broward County Sheriff District 14, dispatch talkgroup 4144.

Ft Lauderdale along the beach , A1A and Los Olas area ( by the Marriott Beach Place ), is that still Dist 1 or is that Dist 3, covered by the Live Audio on RR ?

That area should be District 3, however I don't know what the live audio feed plays as I have never listened to it. District 1 starts north of Sunrise Blvd.
