I wish they'd quit 'jacking' around with it.. :?

Just a week ago I was able to pick them up fine from home.

Now it seems like they're using a diff frequency for the control channel. Not sure if the rest of the frequencies were messed with or LCN was changed.

There is a CTL Channel @ 406.5625
it is showing 'CTL-02' when programmed.

<edit>
I'm picking up a little bit of traffic now, after changing the ctl chan freq to
406.56250, is it safe to assume that the only thing that changed is the control channel?

Not sure how the systems work, but do they have the ability to switch the control channel to another frequency pretty easily?

Yes, systems often change CC's, many change them daily as do five Mot systems in my area.

Your system does not have 406.5625 listed at all in the RRDatabase for Ft Leonard Wood. These are the listed LCN
01 406.16250*
Did you insert 406.5625 as 02 and move the others down in your bank?
02 406.96250
03 407.36250
04 408.16250
05 410.16250

If it is an addition which they just employed, you would certainly have problems scanning the system without reprogramming your scanner accordingly.

If the above LCN works (with the addition) as before, please submit the new freq to the RRDatabase?

04 408.16250
05 410.16250

I replaced
01 406.1625
with 406.5625

I left all the others alone, so as not to mess it up

didn't know if it would track properly, since the ctl chan should be in 01 for an EDACS system.

ok so I put 406.5625 in as 02 and moved the others down and it's tracking properly. But they switched the ctl channel again to 406.1625

This is incorrect bro. :)

Control channels can be anywhere. The only thing that matters is the programming of your scanner *matches* the LCN of the system you are monitoring STARTING with 01 ... else you will hear next to nothing.

not too familiar with trunking still.
Besides the military base nobody here uses it.
Until recently I haven't even been able to manually program it.

With LCN set as you have (01 through 06), watch the display for voice traffic on 406.5625. As Crayon noted, LCN is very important for correct tracking with a scanner. Thus it's hard to believe the system had 406.5625 in 02 all this time or you and others would have had poor trunking. Running Universal Trunker (free) should verify the LCN.

currently I have it programmed like this

01 406.1625
02 406.5625
03 406.9625
04 407.3625
05 408.1625
06 410.1625

It SEEMS to be tracking properly, it is also picking up transmission on 406.5625.
The Current control channel was switched back to 406.1625.

Also I searched on Google and on this site, didn't come up with any meaningful results searching for Universal Trunker.

That's great!

If in the future the control channel switches .. you do not need to worry. Your radio is smart enough to figure out the change.

You were somewhat mis-led :)) sorry fmon) as the program goes by Uni-Trunker.

http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=25167

You will need a radio that is discriminator tapped to run the program.

No problem Crayon, I usually take two forward and one backward (could be the other way, not sure). :? the UniTrunker may also be located under Software in the RRWiki pages.

Main thing, BaLa has it scanning correctly :)

Ft Leonard Wood TRS

Ok I just pulled my big rig into a truck stop in Waynesville Mo. and decided to go to the RR site, and check MO. forum to see if there was any new info on, the Ft Leonard Wood system because for the last couple of months when im in the area sometimes i pick it up fine and at other times nothing. so i read what BaLa and Crayon wrote and tried this I alredy had the freq just as they appear in RR database in one bank then duplicated the freq in a second bank only locked out the the first freq of 406.16250 in the second bank and all of a sudden started to pick up transmission on my pro96.

The current database has been updated with the alt CC 02 406.56250, nice quick action on the part of the RR team (tweatherford in this case). And kudos to whichever of you guys submitted the info.

stimeslp, your blunder is forgiven , it's likely they changed to this Alt CC during past visits when you found flaws in the system. More important, thanks for safely hauling the goods of America across our highways. :)
