Fort Walton Frequencies

Hi everyone,
I will be going to Fort Walton, FL for vacation on July 23rd. I was wondering if anyone lives in this area or has been there and has frequencies for the area that are good to listen to? I have looked around the internet (and on here), there seems to be a lot of different frequencies.. but some of them appear to be outdated by a few years. I was just hoping someone could cut through all of those and just give me the ones that are still active and good to listen to.

I found out that our condo is actually on okaloosa island. I'm not sure which county that is in, though.

Okaloosa county, it has been a few years since I was down in that area, but there is some interesting listening. Also if you have MilAir capable scanner then the specops traing there will be intereesting at Hulbert Field and some flight coming out of Eglin AFB.

Thanks. I was thinking it was going to be in Walton County, which then there isn't much info in the database. I'll check out okaloosa county. Also, on the State trunked systems.. I see there are two. Are those even worth listening to?

Just don't go in past your ankles! Like my dad said -- Why are those people in chest deep water? If I want to go chest deep I can go to knee deep water and sit down.

I was down there last year and everything listed for Okaloosa County and Ft Walton beach was accurate. Plus i heard comms on pretty much all of them. If you are near Destin Okaloosa SO patrols that area. Also of interest if your scanner has the preprogrammed marine channels then those are active a lot too. If not you can find them in the common part of the DB. If your scanner has milair capability PM me and I will send you some good comms from Eglin and Hurlburt Field. These are air comms not ground related but they are very entertaining to listen to. I reconfirmed several this past week all the up the coast in Pensacola Beach.
