Has anyone had success monitoring any comms at the Fort Worth Zoo? Nothing is posted in RadioReference.
About to head out there.
They are licensed for possibly DMR trunk WQAA958 on:
452.5625
461.250
463.600
464.7625

Also licensed for some 2-watt simplex (analog or DMR) WQBN699 on:
452.5125
461.4875
461.8375
462.0375

The Forest Park Miniature Railroad used to have a license WPPC950 on 467.250 MHz but that expired years ago and another license was never superseded.
I'm not even sure if the train is running right now as I've seen it is (or was) closed for some maintenance and repairs.

Myles,
I wish I could help you but I haven't been to or tried monitoring the Fort Worth Zoo in close to 20 years. I do know they used UHF analog back then and they used both simplex and a repeater. There doesn't seem to be any NTIRN TGIDs they use either. You might try thinking of a question they would have to ask over the radio and then see if your CloseCall goes off when you ask and employ? I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they were still analog. Here's of her used in the past:

461.1125 F3
461.3375
461.3625 F6 Security
466.1625

Looks like FWPD has a specific TG for Zoo Special Detail. But I don't see this being used by Zoo personnel.

FW ZOO 5037 FWPD ZOO SPECIAL DETAIL
FW ZOO-B 5038 FWPD ZOO SPECIAL DETAIL BACKUP LAYER

To my understanding, they operate a MotoTRBO CapPlus system. Have not found a control channel yet though, not sure if I was just never in close enough range or what.

Just got back and this is what I found.
Only heard 2 DMR repeaters. Both with CC5.
464.7625 Seemed to carry the most trafffic.
TG 301 TS 1 seemed like ops
TG 302 TS 2
TG 303 TS 2

452.5625 I only heard one TG.
TG 402 TS 1 sounded like security

I didn't have my earphones to plug in and didn't keep the radio up that high to disturb others.
Plus was trying to enjoy myself and not get too wrapped up with the radio so didn't determine who the users were for 302 and 303.
301 had janitorial staff but also some attractions so guessing it is a general "OPS" kind of TG.

I actually caught the two on close call around the MOLA (Museum of Living Art) building so guessing that's where the antennas are.

Brian, I saw your response when I was out there and plugged in those old analog freqs but got nothing. Thanks for the suggestion though. Sometimes "expired" doesn't mean no longer used.

Are these on a trunked system or just conventional?
Just conventional. I had even created a Mototrbo trunk system with the 4 freqs just in case it wound up being a CON or CAP system so I could run Analyze but didn't need to. Pretty basic no-frills stuff.
