• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Double Dual PTT design hahaha. Baofengs/wouxuns in a redesigned case. Interesting how many APX lookalikes theyve started making, hmm wonder what else can they make?

That case will go nicely with my orange and green safety vests, hard hat and 12-cell black anodized, stainless steel, Maglite.
I may have to print up a new Official Whacker ID to include "APX 8000 certified operator".
Hahahahaha.

Thats golden!

Yes, but it's still a feces pieces one chip walkie-talkie with no CopSounds™ or FireSounds™, but it does have that all important FM radio and flashlight!

Wow, one more thing I have to keep my crew from buying from "trusted vendors" based on looks alone. Like all of those Harris AN/PRC-152 lookalikes based on Baofeng radios that have proliferated the market. It was bad enough with batteries looking almost like the real deal with APX900/4000, XPR3k/7k series Motorola .

This one clearly shows "HamGeek" on the label, which increases it's value exponentially.

Full disclosure, I do own a few Baofeng radios and one Anytone 878 variant (not sure which version anymore, but the EMER button on top is light blue), what I actually use, a Harris XG-100P, Motorola APX4000M3, and a Trbo XPR7550e UHF.

But, I do get a kick out of these radios made to look like something else, they create more forums of people asking questions as if the knockoffs are the real thing.

Having a top display in addition to the front one is unusual for a handheld in the $125 price range. It's a re-badged Xinlip XL6500 with UHF/VHF internals instead of PoC/UHF. No reviews anywhere yet.

Say what you will...
But the flashlight is what sold me...
In this case....real "M" just does not measure up.

Can't tell you how many times I've been trying to unlock my door at home and couldn't see to put the key in. No luck with the Moto. Whip the 'Feng right off my orange vest and in I go. Would never buy another radio without a flashlight. :ROFLMAO:
