Found my Scanner "Unicorn" this weekend

This past weekend at the Huntsville, AL hamfest, I found a scanner that I'd long been searching for...
My own personal scanner "unicorn"

The Electra Bearcat Eight-Track 4 channel scanner. This scanner plugs into your automobile's 8 track player, so you can listen to radio traffic in STEREO.

This scanner appears to be brand new in the box. It was complete with the original box, instruction manual, unfilled warranty card, and wire antenna with suction cup.

I had seen one of these scanners in 1985 and hadn't really seen one since.

In this same transaction, I also picked up an Eletra TigerScan two channel scanner from about 2000.

Our discussion at dinner after the Hamfest concerned locating the proper 1978 (+/-) postage stamp to mail the warranty card.

That's a cool find! I remember seeing adds for those back in the day but never got to play with one. Seem to recall them being a bit on the pricey side.

The coolest people had the CB that looked like a mobile phone, complete with PTT on the handset.
