Did some searching this morning and found a few new federal/military freqs here in OKC. Mostly P25 except one analog. I don't have a P25 scanner so I can't listen to the digital ones but you all may want to give a listen. I just submitted them to the Unidentified Federal & Military section of the DB.

409.8500 179.9 PL analog voice
408.2625 P25
406.8250 P25
407.0250 P25
172.2125 P25

Well, I think you should definately get a P25 scanner - it makes for much better listening! I found a VHF federal channel a few months ago and have been trying to ID if (you don't have it in your new list - it's listed under unid already (163.65)). Apparently it's linked to the DFW area. On Saturday, there were multiple units following a guy all over the place. It was great listening until they got their air-support unit up and went analog simplex near Dallas.

This freq is linked to Fort Worth on 163.300 and Dallas on 168.xxxx (can't remember the freq off the top of my head).

Any ideas on who would be tailing someone so closely? Apparently they are tapped into cell phone info too - can see when the guy's phone moves. I have suspicions they can monitor the subject's calls also, as once while they were on the phone I heard "we don't have that caller".

This morning, there is still traffic. It's back to about 50% encrypted again too. Apparently they are still in the Dallas area - around Hwy 121 running some kind of traffic.

Any ideas???

172.2125 still getting P25 activity? Anyone w/ P25 able to catch any comms on it? That freq is apparently used as a federal interop freq in Chicago.

162.950 (possibly Immigration/Border Patrol)
408.5625
409.7625
Here is a copy of a worksheet that I started to maintain when Tinker went P25. Some of the descriptions are just notes to jog my memory as to the nature of the traffic heard. Two of the ones that you found are listed, but due to the cryptic nature of base traffic, I don't have a clue as to what they are actually used for.

APCO P25 FREQUENCIES AT TINKER
Between 406.0000 and 410.9999

406.1625 RR Security 1
406.3625 RR Command Net
406.5625 RR Ramp Net (NOT P25)
406.7625 RR Fire 1
406.9625 RR Fire 2

407.1625 RR Security 2
407.3625 Definite P25
407.5625 6 Mustang Units
407.7625 RR Fire 3
407.9625 RR Jet Operations (NOT P25)

408.0500 P25 "Test - Test - Test"

408.1625 8 Confirmed P25
408.3625 9 Aircraft and Aircrew Services?
408.5625 10 Civil Engineering? Base Maint?
408.7625 RR Mustang Units (Shuttle Buses)
408.9625 RR Crash Net, Fire TAC 4

409.1625 RR Medical Control
409.3625 13 "Escort someone to B1" ??
409.5625 ------------------------------------------
409.7625 14 "Expedite" - Aircraft Maintenance?
409.9625 15 Phoenix Units (Fueling Services?)

163.5375 P25 Traffic heard 6/05/06

Would you be able to confirm those freqs that are not in the DB as definately being Tinker? If so, we can at least add them to the DB as Tinker AFB w/ unknown descriptions. That way others would be able to figure out the specific uses.

For the life of me I don't know why Tinker doesn't just switch to a trunked system. Seems it would be a lot easier than having all these conventional freqs.

As far as the ones with question marks, I can confirm the following;
408.3625 is the "Transient Alert" ops. They are the folks that service aircraft that are just passing through for fuel and such. They also take care of planes that are TDY or Temporary Duty to the base for short periods of time. They drive the white, "Follow ME" trucks.
409.9625 is the Base refueling services. They drive the trucks to refuel aircraft.

I believe 409.7625 is the 507th Reserves group aircraft maintenance but I will have to check on that.

163.5375 is the old Fire & Crash freq and as far as I know is no longer in use.

I will have to punch in the rest and try to figure them out.

Since were on the topic of Military freq's, anyone hear anything about Altus AFB doing a P25 update? They seem to have gone silent.

Anybody know where the 238.8 on Tinkers 10th Flight Test Sq came from? I talked to one of their E-3 flight crews today and he said they don't use that. Maybe one of the other crews do, but I've not heard of it.

I finally got a digital scanner. Bought a brand new GRE PSR-500 over the holidays and it's awesome! Now I can finally hear these feds that have gone digital... and yet they're encrypted most of the time.
