Does anyone know if Phonex Mesa live audio feed covers Fountain Hills? Or if Fountain Hills is covered by Fort McDowell Dispatch? Thanks in advance

Your not off base, they are covered by Rural Metro. So, that doesn't answer my question. Any idea?

When you say provider are we talking about Phoenix 911 dispatch? No, I have not. I posted the question here to see if anyone might know. Thanks for your reply. I am planning on being in Fountain Hills later this week for a month and was trying to find out. from someone in the Phoenix, Mesa, Scottsdale area that listen's to audio feeds.

You can just click the "contact broadcaster" link on the feed and it'll go right to him.

Rural Metro is not dispatched by Phx. They have their own Dispatch on 154.37000 114.8 PL and have a operations freq for Fountain Hills of 155.80500 114.8 PL.

Am I missing something? I did not see the original poster reference an interest in fire only. It is also obvious that he didn't understand the term "provider" in this context.

I would doubt that Ft. McDowell would dispatch for Fountain Hills as Ft. McDowell is a indian reservation. I could be wrong but I haven't run across any interagency dispatch centers located on and provided by an indian reservation. The cases I've seen is that they either do their own or have (at least for wildland fire) dispatch contracted with an interagency center. Such is the case where the San Carlos Nation uses the Tonto National Forest dispatch center for wildland fire dispatching. I'm not sure if the White Mountain Apache Nation uses the Apache-Sitgreaves NF dispatch for wildland fire as well.

Thanks, that answers my question. The only reason I asked about Fort McDowell is because they run alot of Mutual Aid Calls into Fountain Hills. They train togeather and either when Rural Metro Ambulance is not available or only have a BLS crew Fort McDowell covers and provides ALS. Because they run togeather I thought they may dispatch for them also. Clears up all my confusion. Thanks all

Thanks, Interest in Fire, Police and Ems. Ft. McDowell runs alot of Mutual Aid into Fountain Hills, Fire and EMS, so I thought Ft McDowell might possibly dispatch for them. Your reply makes sense. Thanks

This is the first time I've heard that a reservation participates in such a mutual aid agreement. I'm glad to hear this. The reservations I lived near and listened to were not in an urban environment. Since Ft. McDowell is immediately adjacent to Scottsdale to the west and north as well as Fountain Hills up in their northeast corner it makes sense for them to help their neighbors. I spent some time in Scottsdale about 10 years ago and listened to Rural Metro as they were providing service to Scottsdale at the time. I don't recall hearing any mutual aid interactions between Rural Metro and Ft. McDowell. At the time there wasn't any development on the west portion of the reservation and that was probably a factor.

Yes, we had to use Fountain Hills Fire and EMS when my wife got food poisoning and Fountain Hills Engine and Fort McDowell Ambulance came to the house. I was in New York and asked my wife if Rural Metro Ambulance was at the house and she only remembers the one ambulance which came with an EMT and Paramedic marked Ft Mcdowell.
So, Im not sure if it was Mutual Aid to Rural Metro or not. However, with Ft McDowell Casino 2.1 miles from our house, they built a nice public saftey building next to the Casino. I have also seen a working Stucture Fire where Ft Mcdowell's Engine was at the Scene. Actually Ft Mcdowell's engine is closer then Fountain Hills second station on Shea.

The reservation departments around the Phoenix area are often called upon for mutual aid in calls near their normal service area. I have heard Ft McDowell called into Ftn Hills, Salt River into Mesa and Scottsdale, Gila River called into Maricopa, Sun Lakes, Casa Grande and so on. While it is much more common to hear city departments called into the reservations, it does work both ways at times.
