More than few months ago, Chief Bert Lancaster of Fox River Countryside Fire District made contact with the Directors at DU-COMM and wanted to seek Membership within the Consolidated Dispatch Center. They noted that since they received $13,000,000 funding per the referendum that was approved in last year's Primary Election after many attempts of trying to pass the bond requests. DU-COMM noted that the District had received 2000 calls last year which also impacted within parts of the DuPage County limits as well as the Village of Wayne. The information was brought up to the Committee meeting in late April to which the Attorney's overlooked at the Membership review and decided that they meet the requirements and is eligible for Membership. In another Committee meeting, the Directors' noted that the cost of Fox River Countryside's Membership would total in about $154,000. However, the District is not just looking at joining DU-COMM as that is not their only option that they have, but to many other surrounding area Dispatch Centers besides KaneComm after being with them for more than 10 years. So far, I have not heard any other information since they last talked about it back in late May.
