FPL P25 Trunking Questions

I'm planning a trip next month and I notice my last visit they went to dmr nxdn. I see now they are P25 Trunking system in the 800/900mhz. Has anyone try to see if they are switching to the 800/900 p25?

Next week I'll find out when I do the 900 mhz search. I'm sure there is nothing as of yet maybe next few years will be more active.

...

yes, they are.... there are three sites that I can hear from my QTH... (titusville is pretty weak tho)

note that they are re-using some of the old analog channels .... and right now, there are some significant overlaps.... i don't know if they are 1-for-1 turning on/off channels between the systems, but that's a typical plan during a transition.

all modulation is TDMA/Phase 2.

I notice on one site they are using some old freqs. I guess putting the old freqs into a p25 ll see what happens.

What's going on with these DMR repeaters that FP&L has licensed in various places across the state? I've seen them in the FCC database in Suwannee, Columbia, and other counties.

I noticed that years ago. I see sjc has a dmr conv. It seems every county has dmr freq on fpl

The only thing I could think of was maybe they’re planning on using the VHF repeaters for areas where the 900 MHz systems doesn’t cover in the rural areas. Other than that I can’t think of anything.

Looks like the Edgewater system for P25 is using 938.9625 as the control channel it is putting a stronger signal out than the old analog system but can still hear activity on the Daytona troublele channel on the EDACS system
