Hello all,
I’m sorry to be getting this out to you so late, but there were some unavoidable delays. Please accept my apologies.
The annual Fr. Mychal Judge 9/11 Walk of Remembrance will be held tomorrow, Sunday, 10 September 2017. As you know, Fr. Judge, a Franciscan friar, was a Chaplain to the FDNY and is listed as “Victim 0001”.
Attached is a schedule showing the various stops at Fire Houses and Police Precinct Station Houses. A bugler is scheduled to play “Taps” at the 19th Street and Seventh Avenue stop and a second bugler will also play “Taps” at the FD Museum stop.
Last year, there were approximately 900 participants and we hope that even more people will join us tomorrow when the Walk will be dedicated to the memory of the late Detective Steven McDonald.
We would be honored to have your company as we retrace the route taken by Fr. Judge from his rectory at St. Francis of Assisi Church to his final ministry at the World Trade Center where his life was taken while tending to his flock.
All events are in Manhattan and all times are approximate to within about 15 minutes. At each stop, a Franciscan priest will say a few words memorializing the 9/11 victims. The starting point is St Francis of Assisi Church, 31st Street, between 6th and 7th Avenues and traces the route to the Trade Center taken by Fr. Judge on September 11.
