I’ve been tracking unknown Columbus talkgroups for some time.

Thought I would share these station alert ones to maybe figure out a pattern.

57157 station 17

57355 station 121

57142 Station 1

57177 Station 171

57184 either station 182 or 551

I've heard 57157 as Station 18, and 57184 as Station 551.

So each CFD station has a unique alert talkgroup? I would be great to be able to filter out stations and only listen to select ones. I live really close to CFD 35.

They don't exactly work that way. You will typically only hear these active when locution is down or they have a message for that station. So you will definitely not hear every dispatch for that station.

That's a shame. I like how my county does that on MARCS. Makes it easy to listen to only the departments you want to, as @Bswartz95 stated.

It's interesting at some stations when you come to the visitor entrance and hit the call button that it's tied into Locution. That's an expensive doorbell! Curious if that actually goes into the collective and comes out as a station message through Locution or if it's just handled locally at the station?

On the alerting via TG, does the audio still work the same where all fire dispatches are heard and only EMS dispatches in the zone are heard at the station level? That would be a lot of TGs pop up simultaneously. Just thinking that out.
