Three people were injured Friday after a Franklin County Sheriff's Department patrol car collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Hwy. 64 and Holder's Cove Road.
According to reports, 23-year-old deputy Craig Arnold was transporting an inmate, Laura Westbrook, when the accident occurred.
Arnold's patrol car collided with an Oldsmobile driven by 81-year-old Everette Grant, Rt. 6, Winchester.
According to police reports, Grant allegedly failed to yield to on-coming traffic.
After the collision, Arnold's patrol car struck a light pole and a caution light that was installed at the intersection fell onto an 18-wheeler.
Everett's car left the road as well and hit a utility trailer. Traffic on Hwy. 64 was tied up for a time while officers worked the accident.
All three were treated and released from Southern Tennessee Medical Center. No charges were filed in the incident.
The patrol car, a 2004 model with only 19,000-mile on it, was a total loss.
