Franklin Twp PD tower took a direct hit during this afternoon's storm. UHF paging on 470.1375 is off the air...

I also believe I heard something about county taking a hit as well. County was saying something about 'Georgetown' being down, and that they were on the backup transmitters on Zion Mt. in Hillsborough for tone dispatches.

There was also discussion about telco being completely out at Franklin's site.

'tis been a rough night up here, meh boys...

"Georgetown" would be the AAT tower on Old Georgetown Road, sometimes known as the Rocky Hill site or Kendall Park site or Princeton site even though it's in Franklin Township. Both the township and the county have conventional and trunked transmitters at that tower, as well as many other users.

I'm a bit surprised it would have knocked the simulcast UHF paging channel completely off the air.

Jim,

Yep, that's what I heard county telling the Chiefs from 45 & 46, as they were close to being the first stations in the county to get runs due to the storm (by way of how the cells were moving). "Franklin took a direct-hit & UHF paging is down for now"...
