Does anyone know what should be monitored to hear the game warden in action. My father in law is very interested in monitoring them.

Any ideas where to start?

The Game Wardens (Conservation Officers) use the statewide 800MHz SAFE-T system. Their talkgroups are digital. However, you may still hear them pop up every once in awhile on your local law enforcement frequencies. Around my neck of the woods, in addition to South Region, they will also let the dispatcher (in the county they are assigned to) know when they are on/off duty among other things.
