Is Frederick City Police talkgroups encrypted? Thanks!

Unitrunker has always shown a large number of individual data calls, maybe the City of Frederick PD doesn't utilize vox.

The city Dept of Public Works is on the Frederick County P25, but I guess you must be right. Either no vox, or possibly encrypted icalls or something.

Maybe they do it all with laptops and VIOP.

I have found out they are defentitly encrypted. What system they are on I am not sure.

They are encrypted. They are on their own 4 uhf freq system. Their dispatch has the ability to patch them into the county system, though they have done it only about 5 times in the past few years. It is a big contention between them, the county and ft. Detrick. The city cant talk to anyone unless they choose too. And you would be surprised as to when they choose to.

Believe they are on talkgroup 5541 on the county P25 system. This talkgroup was fairly active last time I was out that way and everything was encrypted. Believe the UHF system was vacated when they upgraded.

They are for sure encrypted. They still use the old freq's, such as 494.312. They have only linked to the County and Detrick once or twice in the MANY years I've been listening.

Yes they are encrypted with AES-256 they do have FPD CALL 1 which is not encrypted but is only used when the 800MHZ system fails

FPD TAC 6 - 5546
FPD TAC 7 - 5547
FPD CITWIDE1 - unknown
and the UHF system does not exist any longer
