Frederick County Request for STA

Frederick County just requested a special temporary authority (STA) for a new 7 sites 12 channels 800MHz P25 system that has already been constructed. The FCC application number is 0005086024.

According to the application, the new system is targeted to support 1600 mobile units, operating on

The application attachment also mentioned City of Frederick police will be moving to the new trunked system.

any word on if they intend to encrypt?

The document didn't mention anything about encryption but all my information is from public domain. In my opinion if Frederick PD is already encrypted on conventional, there is no reason to go clear on trunked.
